Mumbaibookstagram's one-of-a-kind reading challenge that took book lovers of India by storm



Mumbai: Mumbaibookstagram, a book lovers community of Mumbai on Instagram recently did a reading challenge called as Mumbaibookstagram Bingo. This challenge was a hit amongst the book lovers pan India.

The bingo challenge by Mumbaibookstagram gave 16 distinct prompts to the readers. Accordingly the readers had to complete a prompt a day. The challenge began on May 15, 2018 and ran till June 4, 2018. Over 17 bestselling authors came forward to make this Bingo a hit amongst the readers by offering personalized signed copies of their books. 

The authors who sportingly sponsored their books for the challenge include Siddhesh Inamdar, Sanchit Gupta, Sanjeev Ranjan, Arpit Vageria, Anamika Mishra, Monica Dixit, Prachi Garg, Siddhi Palande, Gyanesh Sahu, Shipra Sinha Saksexna, Anjali Kirpalani, Smita Bhattacharya, Sindhu Menon, Neha Sharma, Devanshi Sharma, and Devika Das. 

Siddhi Palande, the co-founder of Mumbaibookstagram, spearheaded this brainchild of hers. She says, "Mumbaibookstagram had already done a readathon before this. But I wanted to bring in a new and never seen before kind of reading challenge. Mumbaibookstagram's Bingo came as a eureka moment to me. This was first of its kind and the response was phenomenal. There was much excitement for the challenge." Vidhya Thakkar, (co-founder Mumbaibookstagram), too, picked up the baton to help channelize this innovative idea. 

"Praises kept pouring in for the two of us and that was encouragement enough. People were reveling in this new reading challenge and loving the prompts. Our passion for reading is what resulted in Mumbaibookstagram and that very passion gave birth to a challenge like Mumbaibookstagram Bingo," adds Siddhi. 

"It's always important to have a proper plan. Mumbaibookstagram Bingo was a completely new concept, to make it more exciting with sponsors was something our challenge was. We wanted to do something different with a concrete plan. we planned for weeks, making sure we do not miss minute details. Our hard work pays off and it was a success. says Vidhya.

With the success of Mumbaibookstagram bingo, we wanted to bring new concepts. we wanted everyone to read more books, doing a readathon in a different way was now our motto, which turned out as MumbaiBookstagram Word Search.
